Pump tracks are popping up across Canada at what seems like an accelerated pace, and that is great news for kids and the sport! With an increasingly screen-addicted youth population, these facilities look to stem the negative trend of inactivity. Small, kid-friendly neighbourhood tracks have shown to quickly become a hub for the community. On top of that, the UCI made Pump Track a World Championship event in 2019, so it will be interesting to see where provincial and national organizations will go with the new discipline.

WHICH COMMUNITIES ARE FEELING LUCKY IN 2020?
High River, AB - Velosolutions has been commissioned to build an asphalt pump track in 2020. High River has an amazing team fundraising and managing the project.
Cochrane, AB - Hang-Time Bike Parks is building a dirt pump/jump track right next to the Garmin headquarters. Bike Cochrane is a model of how a dedicated group of riders can quickly change a community’s focus towards bike-friendly infrastructure.
House of Wheels, Edmonton - New indoor wood pump track under construction.
South Glenmore Park, Calgary - This long-awaited track is aiming to break ground in 2020. With a couple of asphalt tracks and a flow line, it sounds like an amazing project that is being managed by the Parks Foundation Calgary.
Fairview/Acadia, Calgary - It’s a race with Cochrane to see who opens first. Bike-Track is building it’s first asphalt pump track in Alberta and all that is left is a fresh coat of asphalt in the spring and it will be ready to ride!
Harmony, Rocky View County - Harmony is really going to have it all: from a lake with swimming, kayaking and fishing; to a Mickelson golf course; and now construction of an adventure park with asphalt pump track. Even though it is one of the closest communities to the mountains, it’ll be hard to leave!
Montgomery, Calgary - In 2019 a dedicated team of community members got a lease on a couple acres of land and built a small bike park with a single track and some wood features. Now the committee has set its sights higher with an asphalt pump track. Already momentum has built, after a successful fall fundraiser and more to come.
Winsport, Calgary - New pump track(s) to be added to their 2019 flow trails and skill park.
Marda Loop, Calgary - Several bike park builders have submitted plans for a pump track in the community though no official information has been found.
Livingston, Calgary - a small dirt pump track was completed in late 2019
Lamont, AB - New pump track 2020
Black Diamond, AB - Upgrades to existing pump track 2020
Perth, ON - New Asphalt pump track for 2020, by Transition Bike Parks
Lincoln, ON - New Asphalt pump track for 2020, by Transition Bike Parks

Langford, BC - New Jordie Lunn Bike Park announced! Includes Velosolutions pump track, jump lines, CX trails and skills area.
Nakusp, BC - New bike park 2020
Chilliwack, BC - On top of Hoots' Island 22 bike park, Chilliwack is rumoured to be in line for another big new bike park!
Whitehorse, YK - New or improved pump track for 2020
Topaz Park, Vancouver Island - The Topaz Bike club is aiming to build an asphalt track. Get involved!
